What is not covered by any insurance

– Damages due to traffic law violations.
– Damages from inappropriate driving or negligence.
– Damages caused by driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
– Damages caused by an unauthorized driver.
– Interior damages.
– Loss or theft of keys.

– Loss or damages to child seats, jack, safety triangle, spare wheel, petrol cap.
– Engine damages from wrong fuel.
– Damages from off-road or inappropriate road use.
– Damages after the agreed return time.
– Willful or reckless damages, e.g., burning out tires, sitting on the vehicle's bonnet or roof.

Quick FAQ

What is the difference between the Basic and Premium insurance packages?

The Basic package includes CDW and theft protection with a reduced excess, while the Premium package offers full coverage with zero excess and additional protections.

Do I need a credit card for the insurance packages?

Yes, a credit card is required for the Basic package to cover the deposit. The Premium package does not require a credit card.

What happens if I lose the car keys?

Lost keys are not covered under any insurance package, and you will be responsible for the replacement cost.

Can I choose my insurance package at the time of booking?

Yes, you can select your preferred insurance package during the booking process

Are there any additional fees for the Premium insurance package?

The Premium package includes a small daily fee, which varies based on the vehicle category.

What is not covered by the insurance packages?

Damages from traffic violations, negligence, unauthorized drivers, and certain specific items, including lost keys, are not covered.

We rented a Fiat Panda with Sterling Rentals for our stay in Crete. Upon arrival, a short rental agreement was completed, we got the full insurance (without excess) and we paid for the car in cash. The car was also briefly inspected with us and any scratches, bumps etc were noted. We had no issues with the car and it was perfect to get around the island. Unfortunately we added a new scratch to the car, but this was no problem at all since we got the full insurance. Before returning the car we went to a self service car wash, which was much appreciated by Sterling Rentals and we filled petrol to the same amount as when we got the car. It was our first time renting a car abroad and we had a great experience with Sterling Rentals! Highly recommended!
